Yanga's Information and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has clarified reports circulating on social media claiming that the club had been banned from registering players for three transfer windows.
Kamwe said the issue was a normal challenge within FIFA's registration system and that it has already been resolved.
"All registration processes are conducted through the FIFA system, which involves more than one party in order to complete the entire process."
"When we sign a player to join our team, we upload all the information and documents into the system, including the contract and payment details made to the player and their former club. The club that sold us the player is also required to confirm the contract and payment information on the system."
"If one party delays the process, the FIFA system will identify that there is an issue. In this case, one of the clubs had not confirmed the payment documents that we had submitted, which led to the misunderstanding that occurred."
"Perhaps because Yanga is a big club, the matter was treated as something much bigger than it was. Every day Yanga is said to be banned from signing players, every day Yanga signs players, and every day Yanga continues to be champions."
"According to the CEO, the club involved was contacted and confirmed that the payment had been made, meaning the issue has already been resolved," Kamwe said.
In another development, Kamwe confirmed that Congolese club FC Les Aigles du Congo will face Yanga on Sunday in the climax of Mwananchi Week celebrations.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM.
