Excitement continues to build ahead of the annual Mwananchi Week grand finale, with Yanga SC Head of Information and Communications, Ally Kamwe, already practising his goal celebrations for striker Peter Shalulile.
Kamwe has urged Yanga supporters and members to secure their tickets early and turn up in large numbers at Uhuru Stadium on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
This season's event, also known as Yanga Day, is expected to be historic as supporters will get their first opportunity to see Peter Shalulile and other new stars wearing the famous green and yellow jersey.
Highlighting the strength of the new-look Yanga squad, Kamwe revealed that some teams they had approached for friendly matches had backed out, fearing an early encounter with coach Manqoba Mngqithi's side.
The event will begin at 10:00 AM and will feature performances from top artists, the official unveiling of the full 2026/2027 squad and technical bench, and will be broadcast live on Azam TV.
