Yanga president Hersi Said has officially confirmed the signing of defensive midfielder Fred Ngoma from Moroccan club Olympique Club de Safi.
Ngoma joins Yanga to strengthen the defensive midfield position, an area the club has been looking to reinforce since the departure of Khalid Aucho.
The 28-year-old Congo-Brazzaville international was a key player for Olympique Club de Safi (OC Safi) in Morocco's Botola Pro last season. He also played an important role in the club's run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.
Born on November 24, 1997, in Pointe-Noire, Ngoma brings extensive experience in African football. He began his professional career in Congo-Brazzaville with CSMD Diables Noirs, AC Léopards, and CS La Mancha before establishing himself at AS Otôho between 2018 and 2021. During his time there, he featured in CAF inter-club competitions and earned call-ups to the Congo-Brazzaville national team.
Ngoma also has significant experience in North African football, having played for Tunisia's CA Bizertin between 2021 and 2023 before moving to Libya, where he represented Al-Ittihad Tripoli and Al-Akhdar.
It is now official—Fred Ngoma is a Yanga player.
