According to multiple reports from South Africa, Ivorian central defender Oumar Comara is close to joining Tanzanian mainland champions Yanga.
Comara currently plays for Golden Arrows, where he was coached last season by Manqoba Mngqithi, who has since taken over as Yanga's head coach.
The defender was one of Mngqithi's key players in Golden Arrows' backline as the club finished sixth in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) last season.
Although primarily a central defender, Comara is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, making him a versatile option who can fill both positions.
South African journalist Lorenz Kohler has reported that Yanga have already completed the signing of the defender, reuniting him with his former coach.
If confirmed, Comara's arrival would appear to complete Yanga's remaining foreign signings for the transfer window, with the club also being linked with defensive midfielder Fred Ngoma from Moroccan side OC Safi.
The reported move would also effectively end speculation over a possible return of attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki to Yanga during this transfer window.
Yanga would also be required to reduce the number of foreign players in their squad, with internal reports suggesting that striker Laurindo Aurelio "Depu" has been placed on the transfer market.
