Yanga have confirmed that club captain Bakari Nondo Mwamnyeto has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay with the reigning Tanzanian Premier League champions until 2028.
Head of Information and Communications Ali Kamwe announced the extension on Tuesday, confirming that Mwamnyeto remains a key part of the club's long-term plans.
The defender has already reported to Yanga's pre-season camp at Avic Town, where he has joined his teammates in preparations for the upcoming campaign with high spirits and determination.
Despite facing heavy criticism toward the end of last season, Yanga have reaffirmed their confidence in the skipper, who is on course to further cement his legacy as one of the club's most successful captains.
The new two-year deal will keep Mwamnyeto at the club through 2028, making him one of the longest-serving senior players in the current Yanga squad.
Yanga have also maintained their faith in local talent at the heart of their defense, with all four senior central defenders for the upcoming season being Tanzanian.
Mwamnyeto will compete for places alongside Dickson Job, Ibrahim Bacca, and new signing Mohammed Mussa, who joined the club during the current transfer window from Mashujaa FC.
