Defending NBC Premier League champions Yanga have continued to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season by officially confirming the signing of Zambian international left winger Albert Kangwanda.
Kangwanda joins the Jangwani-based club on a permanent transfer from Zambian side Red Arrows. The 27-year-old arrives with an impressive reputation after being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season in Zambia.
An Impressive Track Record
The left-footed winger is expected to add pace, creativity, and attacking flair to Yanga's frontline.
During the 2025/26 season with Red Arrows, Kangwanda produced outstanding numbers, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions, contributing directly to 26 goals.
His pace, dribbling ability, and accurate crossing made him one of the most dangerous attacking players in Zambia before Yanga secured his signature.
International Experience
In addition to his club success, Kangwanda is a key member of the Zambia national team, the Chipolopolo.
He was part of the squad that won the 2022 COSAFA Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final against Namibia.
Kangwanda also impressed at the 2023 COSAFA Cup, finishing as the tournament's joint top scorer with three goals.
Throughout his career, he has also played in Croatia and Sudan, where he featured for Al Hilal, giving him valuable experience in international competitions.
His arrival provides Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi with more attacking options as the club prepares to defend its domestic titles and challenge for success in the CAF Champions League.
