Young Africans (Yanga SC) President, Engineer Hersi Said, thrilled the club's supporters on Friday night, July 24, 2026, by officially unveiling three new international signings while promising that the arrivals mark only the beginning of the club's squad overhaul ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The unveiling, which was broadcast live on Azam TV and the club's official social media platforms, introduced three of the five foreign players Yanga have signed as part of efforts to strengthen their attacking and midfield departments.
New Goal Machine Arrives
Leading the announcements was Senegalese-born, French striker Cheick Ibrahima Touré, who joins the club from Saudi Arabia.
Touré has signed a two-year contract and was described by Hersi Said as a "Goal Machine" expected to solve Yanga's goalscoring challenges.
Yanga also completed the signing of exciting Zambian left winger Albert Kangwanda, who is renowned for his pace and dribbling ability. Kangwanda arrives after winning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in Zambia during the recently concluded season.
The third player unveiled was Comoros international winger Housseine Zakouani, who brings additional quality and experience to the squad.
Hersi Outlines Yanga's Ambitions
Speaking during the presentation, Hersi Said assured Yanga supporters that the club's recruitment had been carefully planned in line with the recommendations of the coaching staff.
"We are entering the new season with even bigger ambitions—not only to defend our domestic titles but also to make a stronger impact on the continental stage. These three players are part of our long-term strategy to make Yanga a major force in African football," Hersi said.
He also confirmed that two more foreign signings will be unveiled in the coming days, expressing confidence that the new additions will strengthen the squad as Yanga targets every domestic trophy next season while aiming for a successful campaign in the CAF Champions League.
