Injured stars Dickson Job and Clement Mzize joined their teammates yesterday on the first day of preparations for the 2026/27 season.
According to an initial statement from Yanga, the two players are currently under close monitoring before they fully return to their regular duties.
However, there are positive signs of recovery, especially for striker Clement Mzize, who looked strong while taking part fully in training sessions under coach Manqoba Mngqithi. Mzize could make his return to the squad earlier than initially expected.
While Job suffered his injury during the match against Simba on March 1 this year, Mzize has been sidelined for a long period due to a knee injury.
Last season, Mzize featured briefly in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League before aggravating an injury he sustained while representing the Tanzania national team at the 2024 CHAN tournament.
He returned for the away Champions League match against AS FAR but suffered another setback while preparing for the game against JS Kabylie.
Following his second injury, Yanga's management sent him to South Africa for further treatment in February 2026, and he has since continued his gradual recovery.
He is now in the final phase of strengthening the affected area and regaining full fitness before officially returning to competitive matches.
