Last week, former Yanga winger Skudu Makudubela announced his retirement from football after nearly 17 years of competitive playing.
The talented ball player did not stay without a role for long, as he has been appointed by Tunisian club US Monastir as a Performance Analyst.
US Monastir is coached by former Yanga head coach Romain Folz, who spent around three months at the club last season before being replaced by Pedro Goncalves.
Folz and Skudu previously worked together at Marumo Gallants, where Folz was part of the club's technical team.
In an exclusive interview published by KickOff, Folz revealed that he recognised Skudu's talent in analysis and advised him to pursue coaching education.
Skudu has already completed various coaching courses and will now have the opportunity to work as an analyst at Monastir.
South Africa has continued to grow its influence in African football by producing many coaches and technical experts who are now working across the continent.
In Tanzania, Yanga's technical bench is led by South African coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who arrived with several other South African specialists. The club had earlier been linked with Fadlu Davids before eventually appointing Mngqithi.
Their rivals Simba are also coached by South African tactician Steve Barker, who has a technical team that includes professionals from his home country.
Recently, Egyptian club Pyramids FC appointed Rulani Mokwena as head coach after he arrived from Libyan side Al Ittihad.
Mokwena previously worked alongside Manqoba at Mamelodi Sundowns, a club that also produced coaches such as Folz, Mokwena, and others from the technical setup led by Pitso Mosimane.
Manqoba spent 11 years at Sundowns, and his extensive knowledge and experience are expected to bring significant changes to Yanga, particularly in the CAF Champions League.
