Yanga are continuing to strengthen their technical bench ahead of the 2026/27 competitive season.
The club today officially announced South African coach Simo Dladla as an assistant coach for the team.
Dladla joins the Tanzanian football giants under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi as part of a major strategy to maintain their domestic dominance and achieve greater success in the CAF Champions League.
His arrival completes a modern technical setup that also includes former Bafana Bafana star Kagiso Dikgacoi as a fellow assistant coach, while former Nigeria goalkeeper Greg Etafia will oversee the goalkeeping department.
The move highlights Yanga's commitment to building a stronger and more professional structure capable of competing at the highest level of African football.
Simo Dladla is a well-known figure in Southern African football. He holds a CAF A Coaching Licence, the highest coaching qualification level on the continent, making him a highly capable tactician with strong abilities in match analysis and developing winning strategies.
Before arriving in Tanzania, Dladla gained experience through various roles in South Africa's Premier Soccer League (PSL) and lower divisions. Most recently, he served as assistant coach at AmaZulu FC during the 2025/26 season, helping the club finish fourth before his contract officially ended in July 2026.
Beyond AmaZulu FC, one of his biggest achievements as a head coach came with Durban City FC, where he guided the club to promotion into the Betway Premiership.
He has also worked on the technical benches of clubs including Maritzburg United, Richards Bay, and Swallows FC.
Dladla is known for a disciplined style of football, particularly in defensive organisation and quick transitions, often favouring systems such as 3-5-2 and 4-3-3. His ability to analyse opponents and interpret matches will provide valuable support to head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
