Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has arrived in Tanzania to officially begin his tenure with the reigning Tanzanian Mainland champions.
Reports indicate that Mngqithi arrived alongside fellow South Africans Yardaan Valodia, who will serve as the club's Performance Analyst, and assistant coach Kagisho Dikgacoi.
Yanga are scheduled to report to pre-season training camp on Monday, July 20, as preparations begin for the 2026/27 campaign.
Mngqithi and his technical team will have approximately three weeks to prepare the squad before their first competitive match of the season against Simba in the Community Shield on August 12.
The fixture will mark Mngqithi's first test against fellow South African coach Steve Barker, who is in charge of Simba.
The Community Shield is also expected to provide Yanga supporters with an early glimpse of what they can expect from the team during the 2026/27 season.
Yanga's management has set ambitious targets for the upcoming campaign. In addition to defending their domestic dominance and winning every major local trophy, the club is determined to make a deeper run in the CAF Champions League, with the preliminary knockout matches expected to begin in early September 2026.
