Yanga Information and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has revealed that the club's sponsor and benefactor, Ghalib Said Mohamed (GSM), has invested heavily in the current transfer window to recruit high-quality players.
Kamwe disclosed that for the majority of the club's new signings, Yanga had to pay transfer fees to buy players out of their existing contracts.
"If there is one transfer window in which our chairman and sponsor, GSM, has spent the most money, it is this one because many of the signings required us to terminate existing contracts."
"In most cases, we had to purchase the players by paying to release them from their contracts, as well as meeting the necessary financial obligations to the players themselves. We have every reason to thank GSM, and Yanga are proud to have his support."
"We have completed a major recruitment drive and added many new players to the squad," Kamwe said.
Speaking about the unveiling of the club's new signings, Kamwe said there would be no elaborate promotional campaigns, with players to be introduced in the same straightforward manner used for the announcement of head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
"This time there won't be any late-night hype. We will unveil players whenever we are ready, and we won't create trends before the announcements—the excitement will naturally follow our unveilings," he added.
