After a break of nearly three weeks following the end of last season, Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga are set to officially begin preparations for the 2026/27 campaign on Monday, July 20, 2026.
The pre-season program will be led by newly appointed head coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who is expected to arrive in Tanzania with his technical staff ready to begin preparing the squad for the challenges of the new season.
According to reports, Yanga will hold their pre-season training camp at the Avic Town training grounds, where the squad will spend approximately three weeks focusing on fitness, tactical preparation, and team cohesion ahead of the start of the competitive campaign.
Mngqithi's first major test is expected to come in the Community Shield against arch-rivals Simba on August 12. The match will provide an early indication of the team's progress ahead of the new Tanzania Mainland Premier League season and other competitions.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that several members of last season's technical staff are expected to remain with the club under the new head coach.
Among those expected to continue are assistant coach Abdilhamid Moalin and fitness coach Tshephang "Chyna" Mokaila, who are set to be part of Mngqithi's new technical team.
