Al Hilal winger Jean Giramugisha has been named the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) after being announced as the winner at the league's annual awards ceremony on Sunday night.
Giramugisha earned the honor following an outstanding season in which he established himself as one of the most influential players in the Rwanda Premier League.
His pace, creativity, and versatility across the attacking line have made him one of the most highly regarded talents, attracting attention from clubs both within Africa and abroad.
Following his impressive campaign, several clubs have expressed interest in signing the winger. Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC (Yanga) are reported to be among the clubs leading the race for his signature, while he has also been linked with a number of international sides, including Portugal's Sporting CP.
Other clubs reportedly interested in Giramugisha include France's AS Saint-Étienne, Egypt's Pyramids FC, Morocco's FAR Rabat, and Libyan clubs Al Ahli Tripoli and Al Ahly Benghazi.
Winning the league's MVP award is expected to further increase Giramugisha's value in the transfer market, potentially making the battle for his signature one of the biggest stories of this transfer window.
Although a move to Yanga is widely viewed as a difficult deal to complete, reports suggest the Tanzanian champions are targeting high-profile signings this transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad for a stronger CAF Champions League campaign.
"There are some signings that many people believe are impossible, but they will happen. Just wait until everything is finalized—some people won't believe what we're planning to do during this transfer window," a senior Yanga official said confidently.
