Yanga have officially announced South African coach Manqoba Mngqithi as the club's new head coach ahead of preparations for the 2026/27 season.
Mngqithi arrives at Jangwani with extensive coaching experience in African football, having spent several years with South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
During his time at Sundowns, he served in a variety of roles, including assistant coach, co-head coach, and head coach, contributing to the club's success in the South African Premier Division and other domestic competitions.
Before joining Yanga, Mngqithi was in charge of fellow South African side Golden Arrows after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of 2024.
His appointment comes as Yanga continues preparations for the new season, with the club aiming to defend its Tanzania Premier League title while also mounting a stronger challenge in the CAF Champions League.
Mngqithi is widely recognized for his football philosophy, which emphasizes possession-based play, structured attacking football, and strong defensive discipline. He has also earned a reputation for developing young talent and building teams capable of sustained success.
