Defending Tanzania Premier League champions Yanga SC are reportedly in the final stages of completing the signing of Mouna FC left-back Samba Koné from Ivory Coast.
Yanga is set to sign the 23-year-old Koné as a replacement for DR Congo defender Chadrack Boka, whose contract with the club has expired.
Koné, an Ivory Coast international, earned widespread recognition last season after delivering impressive performances on the left side of Mouna FC's defense.
The defender has been regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Ivory Coast Premier League after providing four assists and playing a key role in his team's success.
In addition to his achievements, Koné also has international club experience, having previously played for Algeria's Paradou AC, a club widely known for developing football talent across Africa.
This experience is believed to be one of the factors attracting Yanga's management, as the club aims to increase competition within the squad ahead of next season's continental campaigns.
Koné's contract with Mouna FC expired on June 30 this year, meaning he is expected to join Yanga as a free agent.
Yanga continues its squad reinforcement strategy following a highly competitive season in which the club successfully defended the league title for a record fifth consecutive time.
