In the closing stages of the campaign, Depu demonstrated why Yanga President Engineer Hersi Said personally traveled to Europe to bring him back to African football following the recommendation of former Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves, who is expected to take over as the new head coach of AS FAR.
Despite joining Yanga during the mid-season transfer window, Depu scored nine goals in the league, two in the CAF Champions League, and three in the CRDB Federation Cup, taking his tally to 14 goals across all competitions.
It is worth noting that the striker missed several matches due to injuries and, in some games, was limited to brief appearances from the bench.
His signing, alongside Ugandan midfielder Allan Okello, has proved to be a valuable investment for Yanga, with both players making significant contributions since arriving at the club.
Reports indicate that Yanga has already signed Burkina Faso international striker Yves Koutiama, who joins as the replacement for Prince Dube.
Koutiama arrives from Kenya's Police FC, a club he joined during the mid-season transfer window.
