After striker Prince Dube joined Hardrock FC of Zimbabwe, Tanzanian champions Yanga SC have begun the process of searching for his replacement, with Ndumumwe Mossi emerging as the leading candidate.
Dube left Yanga yesterday to return to his home club in Zimbabwe after the expiration of his contract, a move that surprised many fans as the club had been working to extend his stay.
However, his departure has left a gap in Yanga’s attacking department, and the management has now started efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
According to a reliable source within Yanga’s management, club officials have already initiated preliminary talks with Singida Big Stars regarding the potential signing of striker Ndumumwe Mossi.
Mossi, a Burundian international, joined Singida BS in January 2026 during the mid-season transfer window and quickly impressed with strong performances that made him one of the standout players of the recently concluded season.
The striker finished as the NBC Premier League top scorer with 17 goals and was the only player to score two hat-tricks in a single season. His performances helped Singida BS finish fourth and secure qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Mossi’s biggest strength is his efficiency in front of goal, as he is known as a striker who needs very few chances to score. This is reflected in his record of 17 goals in 21 appearances for Singida BS.
Yanga’s management is believed to be attracted by his finishing ability, which has become a priority following Dube’s departure. Although Dube was versatile and capable of playing in multiple attacking roles, his consistency in front of goal was occasionally questioned.
