Yanga SC striker Emmanuel Mwanengo has urged supporters to turn out in large numbers at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium for their final NBC Premier League match against JKT Tanzania.
The season-ending fixture will be played at 10:00 p.m., with Yanga needing a victory to secure the league title.
Despite acknowledging the strength of JKT Tanzania, Mwanengo insisted that Yanga are focused on securing three points by any means necessary, adding that the presence of fans will be a key boost.
"JKT Tanzania are a good team and they gave us a tough match in the CRDB Cup. I believe tactically they will also be well prepared tomorrow, but we are Yanga—we must be better to win," he said.
"The good thing about tomorrow’s match is that we don’t need a big win, just three points. Even a 1-0 victory is enough to make us champions. I urge our fans to come in large numbers because their presence gives us strength. Let’s come and win together," Mwanengo added.
Three points will be enough for Yanga to be crowned champions, although they could also retain the title with just a draw depending on other results.
Should Yanga draw, Simba would need an extraordinary 17-0 victory in their own match to overtake them and win the championship.
