Yanga SC cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over TRA United at KMC Complex in their NBC Premier League Round 29 encounter.
Needing a win to strengthen their title hopes, Yanga delivered an impressive performance led by Allan Okello, who scored his fourth hat-trick of the season.
Okello opened the scoring in the 27th minute, finishing off a cross from Prince Dube to give Yanga a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Yanga continued to dominate after the break and were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute after a TRA United defender handled the ball inside the penalty area. Okello calmly converted from the spot to double the hosts' advantage.
He completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute after Yanga launched a dangerous attack down the left flank. Okello reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box and fired it into the net.
It was a one-sided contest for much of the match, and Yanga could easily have scored more goals had they been more clinical in front of goal.
The victory leaves Yanga in a commanding position in the title race, with the defending champions potentially needing just one point from their final league match against JKT Tanzania to secure the championship.
