Yanga SC has officially announced the timetable for its 2026 General Election, with the process set to begin on June 25, 2026, and conclude with voting on August 2, 2026.
According to the schedule, the Election Committee has outlined several stages that will allow members to actively participate in choosing the leaders who will guide the club during the next term.
"Today we have only one agenda, which is the Yanga SC election. As you may recall, we recently launched branch elections. Some branches have already completed the process while others are still ongoing. We urge those who have not yet submitted the names of their leaders to do so by July 7," said Election Committee Chairman, Advocate Malangwe Mchungahela.
The process will begin with the official announcement of the election and the positions available for contest. Nomination forms will be issued from June 25 to June 29, 2026. This will be followed by a preliminary vetting session before the publication of the initial list of candidates.
"I would like to take this opportunity to officially announce the Yanga SC General Election. The election is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2026, when Yanga members will vote to elect new club leaders. Starting tomorrow, nomination forms will be available at Yanga headquarters. Article 26 of the Yanga constitution outlines the qualifications for candidates. The nomination fee for President and Vice President is TSh 200,000, while candidates for committee positions will pay TSh 100,000," added Mchungahela.
Candidates will be given an opportunity to submit objections regarding the vetting results, after which the Election Committee will conduct interviews and announce the final list of eligible candidates.
The Election Committee has also provided an appeals process through the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Election Appeals Committee for individuals dissatisfied with decisions made by the Yanga SC Election Committee. Such appeals will be submitted in mid-July before final decisions are issued.
