Yanga's Information and Communications Manager, Ally Kamwe, has said the team arrived in Zanzibar with one clear objective: to move closer to winning the NBC Premier League title and erase the disappointment of their recent defeat to Azam FC in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup semi-final.
Speaking after the team's arrival on the islands yesterday, Kamwe said that Azam FC are left with only the memories of their recent victory, insisting that Yanga are ready to finish the job in the upcoming league encounter.
"We have already eaten the whole cow; the tail is just a small part, and we are prepared to finish what remains," said Kamwe, suggesting that the work left to secure the title is minor compared to what the team has already accomplished throughout the season.
Yanga face a difficult challenge against an Azam FC side that has already demonstrated its ability to trouble the league champions, having secured a 3-2 victory in the Federation Cup semi-final.
The big question now is whether Azam FC can defeat Yanga for a second consecutive time at the New Amaan Complex, or whether the "Wananchi" will use the match to reaffirm their quality and strengthen their chances of defending the league title for a fifth straight season.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 p.m., the same time all Matchweek 28 fixtures will be played.
