Yanga captain Bakari Mwamnyeto has called on fans and club members to fully support the team in their remaining matches to ensure they finish the season strongly and defend their league title for a fifth consecutive time.
Two days ago, Mwamnyeto led Yanga to a crucial 2-0 victory over Mashujaa FC in a match played at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma region.
Following that win, Yanga now have four matches remaining. Winning all four—or winning three and drawing one—would guarantee them the league title for a fifth straight season.
“I know the remaining four matches are not easy, but the more we keep winning like we did against Mashujaa, the closer we get to our goal. The most important thing is for fans to continue supporting us the way they started the season with us and finish with us with the same energy,” said Mwamnyeto.
“Our job as players is to make sure we give fans happiness. If results don’t go our way, it is just bad luck, but we continue preparing ourselves to finish strongly and win the remaining matches,” he added.
The Yanga squad is currently in Arusha preparing for their next fixture against Fountain Gate, scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
After that match, Yanga will shift focus to the CRDB Cup semifinal against Azam FC, set to be played on June 21 at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
