Yanga arrived in Kigoma yesterday and received a warm reception from their fans in the region ahead of their NBC Premier League match against Mashujaa FC, which will be played on Saturday at Lake Tanganyika Stadium.
The reception was of great significance to both players and the technical bench, who have promised not to disappoint their supporters in the upcoming fixture.
Speaking on behalf of his teammates ahead of the match, goalkeeper Hussein Masalanga said the team has felt highly appreciated in Kigoma and is now determined to repay the fans with a positive result on matchday.
"Since our arrival, we have received a very warm welcome from our fans here in Kigoma. They came in large numbers to receive us and even attended our training session yesterday," he said.
"We are very happy to see them and we want to give them good entertainment tomorrow as a way of appreciating their love and support. All players are ready for the match, and our goal is to perform well in all remaining games," Masalanga added.
Yanga are scheduled to hold their final training session today at Lake Tanganyika Stadium as they complete preparations for the 10:00 PM kickoff.
The league leaders need a win to strengthen their position at the top of the NBC Premier League table and move closer to securing the title.
