Yanga’s Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, has stated that the club’s current priority is to successfully defend the two trophies still within reach — the Mainland Premier League title and the CRDB Federation Cup.
Despite being linked with various transfer rumours, Kamwe explained that the club’s leadership is fully focused on achieving the team’s objectives and that no transfer-related processes are currently taking place.
"At the moment, we are not holding any discussions regarding either a coach or players because we have a major task ahead of us."
"The management’s focus is on preparing the team for the remaining five Premier League matches as well as the semi-final match of the CRDB Federation Cup."
"The only discussions currently taking place involve contract extensions for some players whose deals expire at the end of this season."
"We ask our members and supporters to give their full support in these matches by turning up in large numbers at the stadiums and keeping our players in their prayers so they can fight with all their strength to uphold Yanga’s honour and win the two remaining trophies," Kamwe said.
Yanga continues its preparations for its upcoming Premier League match against Mashujaa FC, which is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 13, at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.
