The U17 Youth Premier League clash between Yanga and Simba at the TFF Technical Centre in Kigamboni ended in a 1-1 draw.
Yanga’s youngsters took the lead in the 15th minute through Issa Ramadhani before Simba found a late equalizer courtesy of Faudh Mohamed in the closing stages of the match.
The game was filled with quality football and technical brilliance, with Yanga’s young players particularly impressing with their possession-based style and structured approach to the game.
Yanga’s continued investment in youth development is beginning to bear fruit, with the club aiming to produce more talented players in the mold of current stars such as Clement Mzize.
The result leaves Yanga U17 in third place on the league table with 13 points, while Simba U17 remain at the top with 17 points. Yanga, however, still have a game in hand, which could prove important in the title race.
The draw highlighted the growing quality of youth football in Tanzania and showcased some of the promising talents emerging from the country’s top clubs.
