Yanga Coach Explains Limited Minutes for Okello Despite Four Consecutive Brace Performances

In four consecutive matches, Yanga attacking midfielder Allan Okello has scored two goals in each game, with fans increasingly eager to see the Ugandan international given more playing time so he can potentially score his first hat-trick of the season.

However, the situation has been different on the ground, as Yanga’s technical bench has often used Okello cautiously, with the midfielder rarely completing the full 90 minutes. Head coach Abdihamid Moalin has revealed that the plan is to protect the star player and prevent injury risks.

Moalin said the club understands the fans’ excitement, but at this stage the focus must remain on overall team success rather than individual records in the remaining matches.

“It is true I understand the fans’ desire, but right now we must be careful. We have already lost Pacome (Zouzoua) after his injury against Singida. We all know how important Pacome is to our team,” said Moalin.

“We cannot make another mistake by allowing Okello to get injured at a time when he has already fulfilled the main objective of helping the team win matches. What we need now is to protect our advantage. We must think further ahead.

“We are not stopping players from breaking records. If they achieve that, we will all be happy. But the most important thing for us now is the team’s success, which is winning the league title this season,” he added.

Regarding Pacome, Moalin assured Yanga fans that the player will return in time and could feature in the next match against Mashujaa FC after the FIFA international break.

“Pacome will return on time. He has already started treatment for his injury. We expect him to be ready before the next away match. I also believe some other players will be fully fit by then,” he said.
