Yanga SC head coach Abdihamid Moalin has said that despite limited preparation time, his squad is ready for tomorrow’s Mainland Premier League match against Namungo FC at KMC Complex.
Moalin stated that his players understand the importance of the fixture and will focus fully on winning their own matches regardless of their rivals’ results.
“Preparations for tomorrow’s match against Namungo are going well. We have a short time to prepare, but we remain very optimistic. Namungo are a difficult team, but our priority is the three points. I do not want to focus too much on the points gap with any opponent. Our strategy is to win every match.”
“We understand the importance of every game and we are not afraid to work under pressure. We play the way we always play because we are Yanga. We need pressure to push us forward even more. The important thing is the three points, nothing else. We cannot control how other teams play; we have our own objectives.”
“Every player knows what the fans and the club expect. We believe every player is ready for the battle. Pacome picked up a slight injury in the last match but he is recovering well, while the other players are physically and mentally fit. We also need strong support from our fans, and I urge them to come out in large numbers,” said Moalin.
Speaking on behalf of his teammates, goalkeeper Aboutwalib Mshery said the players are aware of the challenge posed by Namungo FC and also called on supporters to attend in large numbers.
“We know the upcoming match will be very difficult because of Namungo’s current position. They are a good team and we respect them, but the match ahead of us is like a final. The schedule has been tough, but we have no choice except to fight for every three points available.”
“The presence of fans in the stadium is the foundation of our success. Every Yanga supporter understands how important fans are to the team. The supporters are our 12th player, giving us strength and motivation when we are fighting on the pitch. We sincerely ask them to come out in large numbers. This is the moment we need our fans more than anything else,” said Mshery.
