Yanga defender Mohamed Hussein, popularly known as Zimbwe Jr, says the team is treating every match with maximum seriousness as they aim to defend their Premier League title for a fifth consecutive season.
Zimbwe Jr, who had been out for several weeks due to injury, said the result of the previous match has reminded them of the challenges ahead, especially after the points gap between them and Simba narrowed to just two points.
He said the team has taken time to reflect and identify their mistakes, and they are now determined to be more cautious to avoid repeating them.
“We are taking all necessary precautions for every match ahead of us. We had a five-point gap, now it has reduced to two points,” he said.
“This is a warning message for us. We have had time to reflect and understand where we went wrong,” he added.
“Looking at the title race, tomorrow’s three points are very important for us. We have no excuses, and we cannot hide from our opponents because they are closing in. The most important thing is to stay focused so we can achieve our goal,” said Zimbwe Jr, who was Simba captain last season.
