Yanga head coach Abdihamid Moalin says preparations for the Premier League match against Singida Black Stars are going well, with the team set to complete its final training session today ahead of the game scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 22, at KMC Complex.
Despite respecting Singida BS for their strong squad and competitiveness, Moalin emphasized that the match is very important for Yanga and their main objective is to secure victory.
"Preparations are going well and today we will have our final training session. We respect Singida BS because we know they are a tough and competitive team, but as Yanga we understand the importance of this match and our goal is to get all three points," said Moalin.
In recent matches, Yanga have created many scoring opportunities but have struggled with finishing. Moalin said it is a positive sign that the team is creating chances, as it increases the likelihood of scoring more goals in future games.
"It is true that in the last match we created many scoring chances, and that is a good thing for the team. It is also true that we did not convert all of them, but that is part of football. We lost due to mistakes, but the team showed a strong desire to win by creating many chances," he added.
“Players are human beings and sometimes things do not go as planned. The important thing is to keep trusting them and supporting them at all times. Even in our personal lives, there are moments when we fall down.”
"In football, the most important thing is to create many scoring chances. The more chances you create, the higher the probability of scoring more goals. If we start counting individual mistakes, we waste time. Today they miss, tomorrow they may miss again—it is normal in football. What matters is continuing to create chances. You cannot avoid mistakes in football," he said.
Yanga need a win against Singida BS to maintain their bid to defend the league title for a fifth consecutive season.
