Reports indicate that Young Africans SC (Yanga) have made significant progress in their efforts to bring back former attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, who is currently playing for Al Ittihad of Libya after leaving Wydad AC of Morocco.
Last season, Yanga sold Aziz Ki to Wydad, but the Burkina Faso international only spent six months at the Moroccan club before moving to Libya during the January 2026 transfer window.
According to reliable sources, Aziz Ki is open to returning to Yanga, largely due to security challenges he has reportedly faced in Libya.
The midfielder is also said to be considering a return to Tanzania to reunite with his family, as his wife Hamisa Mobetto is based in the country.
โAziz Ki wants to return to Yanga. Discussions are ongoing behind the scenes. He still has a contract with his current club since he joined in January on a two-year deal.
โWe could have a strong team next season. There are several good players who want to join us. Aziz Ki is not happy with life in Libya, and we are also considering this situation,โ a source was quoted as saying by Mwanaspoti.
Aziz Ki married model Hamisa Mobetto on February 16, 2025, in Dar es Salaam. Although based abroad, he has continued to run business activities in Tanzania and reportedly travels to Libya occasionally to meet his wife and manage his commitments.
โBeyond that, there is also the family factor. He is married here and has been away from his family, which is affecting him emotionally. He feels it may be better to return and be closer to his wife,โ the source added.
Aziz Ki spent three seasons at Yanga, scoring more than 50 goals and winning multiple individual awards, including MVP and the Tanzanian Premier League top scorer title.
