In yesterday’s CRDB Cup quarter-final against JKT Tanzania, Yanga attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua reminded the opposition exactly who he is with a standout performance.
In a match where JKT Tanzania coach Ahmed Ali appeared to have set up his defensive structure specifically to contain Pacome, the plan did not work as expected, with the midfielder eventually walking away with the Man of the Match award.
Both goals scored by Yanga in the match were influenced by Pacome. His pass to Chadrack Boka led to the opening goal, which came as an own goal by a JKT Tanzania defender, while Mudathir Yahya’s second goal came from a perfectly timed through ball by the Ivorian star.
There was also a physical battle between Pacome and JKT Tanzania’s full-backs, who frequently fouled him and ended up receiving yellow cards.
