A remarkable professional experience, with memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I committed to the club shortly after the start of the season, during a critical moment, believing in its full potential.
I began the journey towards the club’s main goal two points behind our main rivals, and I leave five points clear, in outright first place, with the most goals scored, the fewest goals conceded, as the only unbeaten team in the league, and the only team that depends solely on itself to win yet another Tanzanian championship title.
Along the way, there was a Champions League group stage that greatly elevated Tanzanian football, 3 cup ties overcome to reach the quarter-finals, and a Mapinduzi Cup won unequivocally.
In total, 35 matches, with 25 wins and only 3 bitter defeats. Two of those defeats came in the Champions League group stage, in away matches against giants Al Ahly and FAR Rabat, and the other against our rivals in the Muungano Cup final, well past the 120th minute, when a moment of youthful inexperience threw it all away.
I leave with the conviction that I gave my all, honourably and honestly, so that the team could prosper with consistency and maintain its continuity in the future.
Although the mission is not complete, the championship title is practically secured, as we have already played both league matches against our rivals, and our points advantage, provided that rigour is maintained, guarantees this achievement.
I believe that, from afar, I will be celebrating this league title and the much desired ‘penta’ alongside the Wananchi, an achievement to which I contributed as head coach with the majority of the work and points.
I am grateful to everyone who genuinely collaborated with me, especially all the Wananchi, who live and breathe the club in an incessant and effervescent way.
