Yanga defender Israel Mwenda has admitted that his mistake led to the team conceding the first goal, while also apologizing to fans and club members for the incident.
Just two minutes into the match, Mwenda lost possession in a dangerous area, allowing Simba to score the opening goal.
The incident appeared to affect his performance, prompting coach Pedro Gonçalves to substitute him at halftime, with Yao Kouassi coming on in his place.
"I did not have a good day at work. I made a mistake that cost the team, and I let down my teammates and the fans."

Yanga remain at the top of the league standings with 48 points, maintaining a five-point lead.
