Yanga have booked their place in the Muungano Cup final after defeating Azam FC 2-1 in the semi-final match played at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
The defending champions started strongly, scoring both of their goals in the first half through Prince Dube and Maxi Nzengeli.
Dube opened the scoring after finishing a pass from Allan Okello, before turning provider as Maxi added the second goal from his assist.
Yanga could have extended their lead further in the first half, having created several chances but converting only two.
In the second half, Azam FC came back stronger while Yanga adopted a more cautious approach to protect their lead.
Feisal Salum scored a consolation goal for Azam FC.
The victory sends Yanga into the final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Simba and Mlandege FC, scheduled for Sunday.
