AS FAR secured a place in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) final after advancing with a 2–1 aggregate victory over RS Berkane.
AS FAR won 2–0 in the first leg of the semifinal before losing 1–0 in the return leg, a result that was still enough to send them through to the final.
The Moroccan side has lost only two matches throughout this season’s CAF Champions League campaign. Their first defeat came against Yanga during the group stage.
AS FAR were placed in Group B alongside Yanga, Al Ahly, and JS Kabylie. They secured qualification to the quarterfinals on the final matchday after a goalless draw against Al Ahly, while Yanga defeated Kabylie 3–0.
It was just a one-point difference that separated AS FAR from Yanga, allowing them to progress — and they have now gone all the way to the final.
Based on their performances in this season’s competition, it is clear that Yanga are not far from achieving major success in the CAF Champions League.
