Young Africans (Yanga) have opened negotiations with Singida Black Stars attacking midfielder Lamin Jarjou as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of next season’s competitions.
Sources close to the club indicate that Yanga have initiated talks with the Gambian winger, who has impressed in the Tanzanian Premier League while playing for Singida BS.
Jarjou has so far scored one goal and provided three assists, statistics that have attracted Yanga’s attention as they look to improve their attacking width.
Reports suggest that discussions between the two sides are progressing well, and an agreement could be reached if both parties are satisfied.
Yanga Still Struggling in Wide Attacking Areas
This move comes after Yanga were reportedly not fully satisfied with the performance of some of their current wide players. In the previous major transfer window, the club signed Offen Chikola and Ecua Celestin, but both failed to meet expectations.
They were later sent out on loan in the mid-season window to gain more playing time and experience.
Yanga also signed Buba Jammeh in the mid-season window, but he has struggled to maintain the form he initially showed, increasing the need for a more effective winger.
Jarjou Seen as a Solution
The Yanga management reportedly views Lamin Jarjou as a player capable of adding quality and competition to the wide attacking positions, especially due to his experience in the Tanzanian Premier League.
Jarjou previously played for Al Hilal before joining Singida BS, giving him familiarity with East African football environments.
Yanga Also Monitoring Girumugisha
In addition to Jarjou, Yanga are also monitoring Al Hilal winger Jean Claude Girumugisha, who has been performing well in the Sudanese side.
These moves highlight Yanga’s intention to continue strengthening their squad in order to remain competitive both domestically and in continental competitions.
