Yanga head coach Pedro Gonçalves has achieved a remarkable milestone after leading the club through 30 matches in all competitions, losing only two.
According to the statistics, Yanga have recorded 22 wins, 6 draws, and just 2 defeats—both coming in the CAF Champions League under difficult away conditions.
Speaking after reaching the milestone, Gonçalves said the achievement is the result of collective effort within the club rather than individual work.
He noted that the record reflects consistency, discipline, and the steady progress his team has maintained since the start of the season.
“30 matches, with only two losses. This is a very important step in our journey with Yanga. It shows consistency and the continuity of the hard work we do every day,” said Gonçalves.
The coach added that his team is continuing to build a strong foundation with ambitious goals, including dominating both in attack and defense.
“We are building a club with something special: first place, strong attack, and solid defense. This is collective work that requires commitment every day,” he emphasized.
During this period, Yanga have shown impressive performances both domestically and internationally, with strong team cohesion contributing to positive results.
However, the club faced challenges in two CAF Champions League matches, both away defeats against AS FAR and Al Ahly.
Yanga have remained dominant in domestic competitions, leading the NBC Premier League with 47 points and reaching the quarterfinals of the CRDB Cup.
The team is also unbeaten in the league this season, extending their run to 39 consecutive matches without defeat.
Gonçalves thanked the club’s fans for their unwavering support, saying their contribution has been vital to the team’s success.
“Thank you very much to our fans. Everywhere we go, you stand with us. Your voice is our greatest strength on the pitch,” he said.
