Yanga assistant coach Mathew Silva has said preparations for the Premier League match against Tanzania Prisons have gone well, and the expectation is to win the game, which will be played tomorrow, Saturday, April 4, at the KMC Complex.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Mathew said the team has had time to prepare for the match while players are regaining full fitness after a challenging period of consecutive games.
Mathew noted that they are ready to face a tough match against Tanzania Prisons, who have shown improvement in every game.
"We have used the FIFA calendar break effectively to strengthen ourselves, and now we feel ready for the upcoming match against Tanzania Prisons."
"On Saturday we will face a tough opponent. Looking at the last four matches, even though Tanzania Prisons haven’t won any game, they have shown progress," said Mathew.
The coach also emphasized that Yanga does not face any technical challenges, which is why the team has continued to stay at the top of the league standings despite a difficult period with player injuries caused by various factors, including stadium conditions.
"I believe we have no technical problems. The injury challenges we encountered were due to the conditions of some of the pitches we play on. We have a strong defense and also a strong attack. I think our top position in the league is not by chance."
Mathew thanked Yanga fans for their continued support in all circumstances and urged them to turn out in large numbers for the match, which kicks off at 6:00 PM.
"I hope to see fans coming in large numbers to the stadium. It’s not just about numbers; they should cheer to give the team motivation. Fans are a crucial pillar for any team seeking results.
