Yanga SC defender Ibrahim Bacca officially returned to the club’s training yesterday, joining other players at KMC Complex as they prepare for the Premier League match against Tanzania Prisons, scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the same venue.
Bacca, a key player for both Yanga and the national team, said he feels relieved to be back with the squad. He also sent well wishes to teammate Dickson Job and striker Clement Mzize, who will continue to miss matches for an extended period due to injuries.
Job suffered pain during the Premier League match against Simba SC at New Amaan Complex, and early reports indicate he may only return to the field during the pre-season preparations for the next campaign.
Striker Clement Mzize has also been plagued by recurring injuries this season, requiring two knee surgeries and is expected to be sidelined until the end of the season.
Speaking to journalists on Yanga Media Day, Bacca said:
"I thank God for my return to the field, but I miss the presence of our teammate Job (Dickson). We pray to Almighty God for his speedy recovery, hoping he can return even this season because with God, nothing is impossible."
"We are fighting for him, and we also pray for Clement Mzize to recover quickly as we continue to strive for good results on the field," Bacca added.
Bacca, Chadrack Boka, Edmund John, and Prince Dube have all regained fitness and returned to training, while Laurindo Aurelio 'Depu' remains under medical supervision.
This March, Yanga faced a congested schedule, leading to multiple injuries, but the FIFA calendar break has allowed some players to return to training on time.
