Yanga Club has announced the return of Abduhamid Moalin to the squad as an assistant coach, joining head coach Pedro Goncalves, whom the management has approved to continue in his role.
After a thorough evaluation, Yanga’s leadership determined that the team has lost its “identity,” and Moalin’s return is aimed at restoring that identity.
Moalin was part of the technical bench last season when Yanga managed to win five trophies.
He began his duties as Technical Director and later became Assistant Coach, working with Sead Ramovic and Miloud Hamdi.
He will now work with Pedro, who will be required to make tactical adjustments to align with Yanga’s football culture.
At this stage, it is clear that Pedro has agreed to work with Moalin, who fundamentally understands Yanga’s football identity, having worked with Ramovic in establishing the “Gusa Achia Twende Kwao” style, and with Hamdi, who built on what Ramovic started.
After Ramovic’s departure, Moalin briefly led the technical bench before Hamdi arrived, and together they maintained Yanga’s strong performance.
Under Hamdi, Yanga drew only one match and won all the others, securing the championship with a record 82 points—more than any previous season.
Moalin also has extensive experience in Tanzanian football. Before joining Yanga, he worked at Azam FC as a video analyst, assistant coach, and later as head coach.
After leaving Azam FC, he joined KMC before being hired by Yanga. He is therefore expected to be a major asset to the technical bench, especially in away matches.
All the current coaches on Yanga’s bench are foreigners, which may explain difficulties in applying the right tactics during away games—leading to the team dropping many points on the road.
