The Head Coach of Young Africans Sports Club, Pedro Gonçalves, has praised his players for showing great determination and resilience, refusing to give up even in difficult moments.
He made the remarks shortly after the conclusion of the NBC Premier League match against TRA United, which ended in a goalless draw. Despite the result falling short of expectations, the coach emphasized that his team demonstrated strong character.
The match marked the completion of the first round of the league season, with Yanga successfully finishing at the top of the standings.
Speaking after the game, Gonçalves said:
“The first half of the season is complete and we are in first place. Although today’s result is not what we expected, we leave with great confidence knowing that our strength is solid. I want to commend the courage and commitment of our players, who have continued to fight despite many challenges and injuries.”
He added that when they began this journey, they were behind their rivals, but now lead the league thanks to their hard work and unity.
“When we started this challenge, we were behind our competitors. Today we look at the standings and see the results of our hard work — we are clear leaders. We are at the top through our own efforts, and that is where we intend to remain.”
The coach concluded by expressing his pride in the squad, stressing that the team continues to move forward together as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
