Yanga central defender and vice-captain Dickson Job has successfully undergone knee surgery in South Africa following an injury sustained earlier this month.
Job picked up the injury during the Mainland Premier League clash between Yanga and Simba played at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar on March 1. The highly anticipated match ended in a goalless draw.
After medical assessment, the defender was advised to undergo surgery to address the knee problem, leading to his trip to South Africa for the procedure.
Reports indicate that the injury could keep Job sidelined for around eight weeks or possibly longer as he begins his rehabilitation and recovery process.
The absence of the experienced defender is expected to be a significant blow to Yanga as the team continues competing in domestic competitions during the crucial stage of the season.
