Yanga midfielder Mohamed Doumbia, who is currently playing on loan at South African club Marumo Gallants, has reportedly become one of the team’s key players.
Since joining the club during the mid-season transfer window, Doumbia has played in every match and has managed to score one goal.
There is a strong possibility that the midfielder could return to Yanga at the end of the season when his loan deal expires.
It should be remembered that Yanga sent three of their foreign players on loan—Doumbia, Ecua Celestin, and Moussa Balla Conte—each on a six-month deal.
Yanga’s Information and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, said the club’s management is closely monitoring the progress of the players and that the door remains open for them to return if they perform well.
“We are closely monitoring the development of those players. Our video analysts are tracking their performances, and we have also been watching the matches they play. We have been communicating with their clubs to get updates on their fitness levels and overall progress.”
“After the season ends, the technical bench will provide a full assessment of each player to decide whether they will return to the team or not,” said Kamwe.
So far, Doumbia appears to be performing the best among the three players on loan. Ecua has had a slow start at JS Kabylie and is often used as a substitute, while Conte, who plays for Raja CA, has featured for only about 30 minutes across the last seven matches.
