Yanga have tightened their grip at the top of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League standings after defeating Singida Black Stars 3β0 in a match played at Airtel Stadium in Mtipa, Singida.
Prince Dube emerged as the hero of the match, scoring one goal and playing a key role in the other two.
Dube opened the scoring in the 41st minute by finishing a cross from Maxi Nzengeli. In the 45th minute, Dube was fouled inside the penalty area by Chukwu, prompting the referee to award a penalty which Allan Okello calmly converted.
In the second half, Yanga continued to control the match and managed to score the third goal through Mudathir Yahya, who finished off a rebound from goalkeeper Metacha Mnata after a shot from Dube.
Yanga played the match cautiously and at a relatively low tempo as they manage a tight schedule of consecutive fixtures.
The victory takes Wananchi to 32 points after 12 matches, further solidifying their position at the top of the league table.
