Yanga SC Head Coach Pedro Goncalves says since arriving at the club, they have played several big matches, but tomorrow they face their main rivals, Simba.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the encounter, Goncalves said he has fully prepared his squad to face Simba as a team, and he expects his players to execute effectively what they have worked on in training in order to secure victory.
“We started preparations the day before yesterday and today we will finalize them. My players are ready and highly motivated to play this big match. If everything goes according to plan, I believe we will perform well tomorrow,” he said.
“This is my first derby against Simba. Our job is to prepare to win every match we play. Whether it is against Cosmopolitan or Al Ahly, our objective is always victory.”
“It is the same for tomorrow’s game; we are aiming to win, although we understand we are facing a very strong opponent.”
“Simba are among the best teams in Tanzania. They have invested heavily in football and, in my opinion, they have also been strong in international competitions. Therefore, we expect to play against one of the biggest teams in Africa.”
“We must be cautious, fully committed, and show great concentration if we want to achieve a positive result,” he added.
Speaking about attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua, Goncalves said the final decision on his availability will be made after the team’s last training session today.
“Regarding Pacome, it is true that he has an injury. We all saw how he sustained it in our match against JS Kabylie. For now, we are closely monitoring his condition, and after today’s final training session we will determine whether he will be ready and part of the squad for tomorrow’s match,” he concluded.
