Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has praised his players following their 3-0 victory over JS Kabylie in the final group stage match of the CAF Champions League.
Goncalves said that despite his team failing to qualify for the quarter-finals, he is satisfied with their overall performance in this season’s competition, believing it marks the beginning of building a stronger side that will achieve even greater success in the future.
“I am proud of this team. I am proud of my players, the technical bench, the leaders, and even the fans who have stood with us shoulder to shoulder in every match.”
“We are looking at what we have done and what we need to improve to ensure we become even better. In preparing for this match, we developed a clear strategy, and my players delivered exactly what was required of them.”
“At the end of the day, people will only talk about the fact that we did not qualify. But we were in a group with three of Africa’s biggest teams. Personally, I am very proud of my players for the great work they have done. I am very proud of this team.”
