The traditional rivals’ clash between Yanga and Simba, famously known as the Kariakoo Derby, scheduled for March 1, 2026, will be played at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
This was confirmed by Yanga’s Information Officer, Ally Kamwe, with Yanga serving as the home team for the first-round Mainland Premier League fixture.
Kamwe made the statement following Yanga’s CAF Champions League match against JS Kabylie, where Wananchi secured a 3-0 victory.
Through his Instagram account, Kamwe wrote:
“Our Mainland Premier League match on March 1, 2026 against Simba SC, the ‘Kariakoo Derby,’ will be played at the New Amaan Complex at 8:15 PM. You are all welcome.”
According to the revised fixture list released by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) on November 17, 2025, the match—number 54—was initially scheduled for 5:00 PM at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. However, hosts Yanga have now moved the fixture to Zanzibar.
