Yanga head coach Pedro Goncalves has stated that despite losing 1-0 to AS FAR Rabat, his team still has a chance to qualify for the CAF Champions League quarterfinals. Goncalves noted that the match posed significant challenges due to rain and cold weather, and a single mistake by his players decided the outcome.
Goncalves emphasized that Yanga now has "90 minutes" at home against JS Kabylie to determine their fate – a win with a two-goal margin would be enough to qualify, depending also on the result of Al Ahly against AS FAR. The coach praised his players for their effort while stressing the importance of fan support.
Regarding striker Clement Mzize, who played the last 10 minutes in the Morocco match, Goncalves said his return is positive and will provide a major boost for the team ahead of the final group-stage game at the Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
"We made just one mistake that decided the game, but we still have a chance. The 90 minutes at home will help us decide our fate, and I trust my players to perform with focus," said Goncalves.
