Yanga stars Mohamed Doumbia and winger Ecua Celestin were not included in the squad that departed in the early hours of today for Egypt ahead of Friday’s CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly.
Yanga are in the process of sending the two players out on loan, and as a result they have already been excluded from the plans of head coach Pedro Goncalves.
Initial plans to loan them to Singida Black Stars appear to have stalled due to issues on the players’ side. However, internal reports suggest that South African club Sekhukhune United have shown interest in signing the two players.
If the move materializes, they will reunite with striker Andy Boyeli, who recently returned to the club after his loan deal was terminated.
Boyeli, Ecua, and Doumbia have made way in the squad for Allan Okello, Depu, and Yao Kouassi.
Meanwhile, midfielder Moussa Balla Conte has survived a proposed loan move after impressing in the Mapinduzi Cup.
